I couldn't be happier with the VDIAGTOOL BT500 Battery Tester, it is hands down one of the most useful tools I have added to my garage. Features are all most DIYers will need, would like to see a crank test in motorcycle mode.
Functionality is good, everything seems to work spot on to what I expected and accurate.
Ease of use is right on the money, buttons have an obvious feel and audible click to them.
No battery, must be plugged in with the usb cord or hooked to a battery.
USB offers upload and print features.
As far as value for the money, I’d say that depends on the user, it’s in an acceptable range for most.

The unit has a really bright backlight or interior light? As you can see in the pictures, seems excessive especially at night.

Build quality seems toyish, the backlight, the weight and feel seems like it may not last in a mechanics environment for long. The clips seem ok, but on the small side for what I prefer like clips designed for a hobbyist.

I love this very useful tester, and recommend everyone to keep one of these in your car. I purchased and received it in a few days. I tested two of my vehicles, one auto and one pickup. The results showed a good battery for my truck, however although, operational, my auto battery getting near end of life and will replace before the next winter season. Also, a coworker's car would not start and used the tester, and found out battery was in good condition, only the connectors needed cleaning and to retighten. This saved him the purchase of a new battery as he had planned to do, before using my tester. The tester is well made and very easy to use. It allows for testing while fully connected to vehicle or if removed from vehicle. It provides a good general test and also cell test, giving you a good understanding of the health of battery. Additional testing including cranking, charging and more. Upgradeable software, so it will be good for years to come. The tester is good for various types of 12v and 24v batteries. I will keep this tester in my car for use when needed for my own vehicles, but expect to use it for others in need, as well.
