Well-made, super useful with 20ft cables and more options than many others.

Does everything you need it to. Easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Very useful automotive diagnostic tool

The Automotive Circuit Probe Tester by Vdiagtool, is a great tool to have in your box, with features and performance like the name brands, but at a discount. Here are some of the things I've learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

I. Quality: The unit itself feels like good quality materials that should last for a while, assuming the electronics survive. The case is a little cheap, but at least it has one. It looks and feels like the name brand version, but without the branding.
II. Performance worked really good so far, performing on the level with the name brands. I really like having a 20ft cable, so I can reach so many parts of my vehicles and RV easily and without reconnecting the power. The cables are strong and stay connected well. Having the ability to send power to a part with a button, is very helpful to see if its failed.

If you're find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it's a video!

You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Solid alternative to the big name brand power probe type testers

If you're a professional auto technician, you won't have a problem spending tool-truck money on the name brand tool for this. But, if you're a do-it-yourselfer, or casual mechanic, this tool is perfect for you. The kit includes a sort of flimsy plastic case, but if you don't abuse it or drop it too much, it should be OK. The tool itself seems to be well designed and pretty well constructed. The included cable accessories make it easy to use this probe from one end of a vehicle or trailer to the other without having to find an alternate power source or move the clamps. Be sure to read the instruction manual a couple of times before you use the tool, to get the most out of it. There are a couple of handy functions, but if you're not sure how they work, you may not even know what the tool is telling you. Even if you just grab it out of the box, hook it up to 12v and start probing, you'll be able to figure out most of it- but reading the manual truly will help.

Solid Construction and Features for the Price

I got this for our son to use when he works on our vehicles. This is what he had to say about it.

This circuit tester comes in a nice plastic case with foam padding to prevent it from rattling around during transport. The tester itself is light-weight, but feels sturdy.

There are two LED lights near the tip which are handy for seeing what you are doing when working under car dashes or in other poorly lit areas. You can tell with a quick glance if the circuit you are probing is positive or negative as the display will turn red for positive and green for negative as well as beep.
Four modes are available:
1.) DC voltage -shows the voltage of the circuit being tested and lets you apply power or ground.
2.) AC voltage/Frequency -can be used to test signal output on components like wheel speed sensors.
3.) Resistance/continuity - test resistance up to 100kOhms.
4.) Diode testing - checks which way is forward bias and shows voltage drop.

The manual is well written and gives basic examples of how to use each of the modes. The included twenty foot extension for the power leads is handy for larger trucks and checking trailer wiring.
